One of the biggest battles I hear when working with clients and my own experiences through attending therapy myself, is finding a therapist that understands, relates and can be what you need at that moment, who can provide counselling services that are tailored to you.
Sometimes our preferences change depending where we’re at. You may be looking for a counsellor that can listen, whilst reflecting your experiences. Or counselling that challenges your thought processes, providing interventions that support your development.
I integrate many therapeutic models focusing on identifying what you need, supporting you to find your strengths whilst integrating this back into your life.
Let’s be honest – You’ve gone through many experiences before you met me, and you’re still here! So, you have the resources, we just need to find it – together.
I post on my page regularly with tips and advice for self management. You might find some useful tips there.
I’m a home bird, I love living in Pendle and being with my family. I enjoy reading but rarely finish a book, I play games as a form of self-care (usually something to do with farming!) I love art but don’t like the mess. I appear organised but secretly chaotic and I battle with anxiety daily. Overall, I live and breathe the duck metaphor.
The reason I’m disclosing these parts of myself is to show that I’m just another person trying to get through this thing called life (queue Prince song). I’ve had multiple experiences within my own life where I’ve had to fight to get through which helps me to relate to others. Especially those that may battle with critical thinking, perfectionism, and trauma.

I've had therapy before within my workplace, and I just felt judged or made to feel like I needed to move on quickly. I had three sessions with Alannah where she gave me Brainspotting. Before seeing Alannah I was riddled with negative thoughts. This technique she used helped me get rid of all that and move on – It was great.

I had been struggling with work for a while, I felt bullied and isolated. Alannah supported me in finding my own strengths and confidence to be able to become more assertive with my boundaries. I now have a new job that I love and feel happier in myself and my workplace.

I was in a black hole before coming to see you. I couldn't get out. Then there you were, and you jumped into that hole with me bringing a ladder, step by step I’ve climbed up it with you by my side all the way. You helped my mind become itself again and remind me what I’m capable of. Thanks Alannah.

I know you’ll tell me that it was me who put all the work in and we only saw each other six times, but honestly you saved me. My wife and children thank you for bringing me back to myself. I never thought I’d feel like me again. I can never thank you enough Alannah.

Alannah is a fantastic counsellor who has helped me more than I can begin to describe and guided me on my journey to better mental health, she would always tell me that I've done it for myself but the truth is she showed me how to find myself again after being lost in the fog of depression & anxiety.
